Early strawberry of Ukrainian origin enters the market

The experts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" find the demand for early berries to significantly exceed the demand this year. For example, early strawberry of Ukrainian origin (supplied from Crimea) has been sold on the country market for two weeks already, and the demand is still high.

The demand for Ukrainian strawberry remains great due to its high quality comparing to the strawberry supplied from Spain. Ukrainian strawberry is sold 30-35% cheaper. To the specialists' opinion, Ukrainian strawberry competes with Spanish product both due to its taste characteristics and appealing look, and also due to the manner of presentation. Ukrainian producers achieved these results thanks to the improved technologies of strawberry production, post harvest handling and packing. In most cases Ukrainian strawberry is ecologically pure and, naturally, it is more fresh and flavored.

The specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal evaluate that bulk supplies of early field strawberry will start as soon as in the first decade of May, if warm and sunny weather is in place in the coming weeks.
