Apple prices may rapidly increase in Ukraine and Poland
May frosts in Poland resulted in the dramatic price jump for apples of 2006 harvest in this country. Some producers - the owners of CA storages will probably decide to storage apples as long as possible; they hope for the further price growth for this product. The observed situation will be another powerful factor of apple price growth in the coming weeks.
Poland is the largest apple supplier to the markets of Ukraine and Russia; so, the price growth in this country will lead to the growing prices for apples in Ukraine and Russia. Since the recent seven days the wholesale prices for quality apple have already grown 15-20% (+$0.2/kg in average) in Ukraine; the price growth trend is still in place.
To the opinion of the analysts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal", Ukrainian apple producers have a good chance to make great money on apple production this season despite of a high probability of the rapid supply increase of marketable national apples on market.
