The prices for early cabbage have been already lower than for the past year cabbage in Ukraine

The specialists of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" inform, as of today the prices for early cabbage have dropped below the price level for past year cabbage in several regions of Ukraine. The specialists explain this circumstance by the seasonal increase of early cabbage supplies from the farms of the southern regions and Zakarpattya on the background of the total lack of past year cabbage supplies. The supplies of past year cabbage from Poland have not been able to satisfy the inner market demand recently; the wholesale companies were displeased with the imported produce quality.

In fact, this situation marks the end of the sales season for the cabbage of 2006 harvest. To the opinion of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the prices for "old" cabbage will rapidly decline soon. Early cabbage will also go cheaper rapidly in line with the increasing supplies. Day by day the sales of old cabbage will become more problematic; the demand for early cabbage will grow due to the price decrease for this product.
