Strawberry yield declines because of high temperatures
The farmers of the southern regions of Ukraine inform the specialists of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" that high daily temperature leads to the reduced yield of early strawberry varieties, to the deterioration of the produce quality and transportability characteristics of this berry. The taste qualities of strawberry are estimated high this year - the sugar content in strawberry is higher than usual this summer due to sunny weather.
If the weather conditions are steady in the nearest future, the forecast of the significant growth of strawberry production may be reconsidered downwards. The weather is able to affect late strawberry varieties, which make the most part of strawberry production in Ukraine.
