Prices for greenhouse cucumber are rapidly declining in Ukraine
The specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal inform that the prices for greenhouse cucumber have been significantly declined as of today. The representatives of greenhouse complexes say that this situation is more or less characteristic for all regions of Ukraine. The prices have maximally declined in AR Crimea (down to $0.3-0.6/kg), southern and eastern regions ($0.2-0.8/kg). The prices have dropped down to $0.6-0.9/kg in Kyiv region, to $0.4-0.8/kg in western regions of Ukraine.
The specialists forecasted this situation mainly presumed by the increased supplies of field products. The representatives of greenhouse complexes admitted the possibility of the further price decrease for cucumbers in line with the growing supplies of field produce. At the same time, the crop turnover is almost finished for cucumber in some greenhouse complexes, so that the production will start anew only in fall this year.
