Vegetable Yield in Ukraine Will Decrease by 14% - "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits".
According to experts of weekly "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" , this year Ukrainian farmers experience no problems with sales of vegetables. Major part of production is sold from the field at acceptable prices, and producers are unable to meet the demand for their products.
According to analysts from weekly: "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", most vegetables cost this year twice- three times as large as the year before. Thus, if last year farmers often had to leave uncut the fields of cucumbers, tomatoes, water-melons, carrots, and other cultures, and customers were interested only in high-quality products, this season even low-quality products are sold perfectly well. The main reason of the fact is decrease in vegetable areas by 3-5% in 2007, also acute reduction in vegetable yield. According to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecasts, vegetable yield this year will be 14% lower than in 2006, but it will still remain above average for the past five years.
