Russia: massive loading of potato to storages will start in two weeks

The specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Fruits and Vegetables" weekly inform, new potato season has started in Russia. The population has already been actively harvesting potato on fields; the professional producers just start collecting the "second bread" in most regions.

In the end of the previous week the average wholesale price for potato declined in average on $0.03 down to $0.19/kg. However, this week the analysts forecast the further price decline. In some regions the local population accepted as low purchase price as $0.09-0.11/kg; at the same time, the professional producers sold potato for not less than $0.13-0.15/kg.

The public catering enterprises, wholesale companies and farms are expected to start massive loading of potato to storages in Russia in two weeks. As a rule, this is exactly this period of year when potato prices decline to the minimal level. Due to the built-up capacities of fruit&vegetable storage, this season Russian wholesale companies and farms may load the record volumes of potato to the quality fruit&vegetable storages.
