That's why AgVANTAGE Project (ACDI/VOCA) jointly with the leading periodical of CIS fruit&vegetable business "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly and the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia decided to organize the forum and business-tour "Fruits and Vegetables of Caucasus 2007", to be held on November 27th-29th 2007.
First day of the forum will be held in Marriot Courtyard hotel in Tbilisi; during the next two days the forum participants will be able to make a trip on comfortable buses round almost the whole Georgia, visiting Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi. During the trip the participants of the forum and business-tour will continue obtaining detailed information about various sectors of Georgian fruit&vegetable business. All the largest players of Georgian market will participate in the event, as they are actively looking for the suppliers of inputs, machinery and equipment (drip irrigation, water-soluble fertilizers and quality seeds and transplants), and also the suppliers of fresh herbs, tangerines, juice concentrates, quality and inexpensive hazelnut, apples and other products.
During the business tour its participants will visit fruit orchards and nurseries, fresh herb greenhouses (growing dill, parsley, cilantro), consolidation centers for fresh herbs sorting, packing and post-harvest handling, the plant for hazelnut post harvest handling, sorting and processing, the plant for sorting and packing of fresh tangerines, the processing plant which produces tangerine concentrate, juice, essential oil and jam, and the plant specializing on apple processing into juice and concentrate. And, naturally, the traditional Georgian hospitality, the best Georgian wines and Georgian cuisine will impress all the participants of the event!
The organizers of the event expect around 250 fruit&vegetable business professionals from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Poland and other countries to take part; the participants will be the leading growers of vegetables, fruits, fresh herbs, nuts, citrus fruits, the largest processors, the suppliers of machinery, equipment and inputs for fruit&vegetable business, the largest importers, exporters and distributors.
