French CECAB opened new cannery in Kuban
The plant for production and processing of canned vegetables of 30 ha square will be held today in Timashevsk, Krasnodarskiy kray, "Rostbalt-Yug" agency informs. The projected plant capacity will amount to 60-80 mln. Green pea, corn and other canned vegetables per year. CECAB group has invested EUR 35 mln. to the project. CECAB Group owns 100% shares of LLC "Kubanskiye Konservy", the press-service of the company informs.
Alain MORICE, the President of CECAB Group, Alexander Tkatchev, the Governor of Krasnodarsky kray, Pierre Jegou, General Director "Kubanskiye Konservy", Pierre Sifflet, the Director of Cannery Direction of CECAB are planned to participate in the opening ceremony.
Agricultural cooperative СЕСАВ group was founded in 1968 in France; now it is one of the leading associations in Europe which produces and processes canned and frozen vegetables. The turnover amounted to EUR 1.313 in 2006.
In the beginning of 2006 CECAB group purchased the major share package of Globus group, the leader of Hungarian and Polish market of food industry. This purchase consolidates the positions of CECAB group; it occupies the second place in Europe on canned vegetable market; and it managed to go from the ninth place up to the fourth place on the market of frozen vegetables.
