The largest agricultural logistics center to be constructed in Yekaterinburg

The construction of a new agricultural logistics center will start early 2008 in Yekaterinburg. Oleg Zemtsov, Press Secretary of Vice-Mayor of Yekaterinburg informed yesterday Nakanune.ru that the center construction is planned to start in the first quarter 2008. This construction project will become one of the largest in the history of Yekaterinburg. The implementation of this project let the city occupy the leading position in fruit and vegetable storage and processing in the central Russia, and also extent the market of agricultural producers and farms. The managerial board of the project consists of Victor Konteyev, the representative of Russian party, and Prof. Bernd Hallir from Koln, the representative of German party, who has the position of the Executive Director of European Retail Academy, and who also organized EuroShop, European largest exhibition of trade and trade technologies.

There is a plan to locate the center in two kilometers from the international airport Koltsovo and in hundreds of meters from main car and railway routes. The complex of buildings will include trade terminals, warehouses, sheltered trade platforms, loading railway station, hotel, bank, international exhibition center, multifunctional hall for bidding.

The creation of power plant with 500 kWt gas turbine is planned to provide energy for the buildings. Initially the project was designed for 60 hectares, and then the implementers decided to extend the land plot up to 120 hectares. By this moment all relevant drafts have been already done, the tentative agreements with lessees have been signed. Thirteen companies of Sverdlovskaya region have already confirmed their participation in this project. According to tentative data, seven to ten thousands of jobs will be created as a result of a center construction.
