Share of imported champignon reduces on Ukrainian market

"Kvity-Service" company, the largest player on Ukrainian mushroom market, informed the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" that most part of mushrooms on the national market is grown in Ukraine.

"Ukrainian mushrooms are forcing imports out of market more intensively. According to the data of Polish specialists, the official imports of Polish mushrooms to Ukraine in 2006 amounted to 2600 tons; the imports tend to decline. To my opinion, this amount will total to not more than 2,000 tons this year", Maxim Kuznetsov, the President of the company concluded.

The Chief of mushroom company says that mushroom market is actively developing now in Ukraine and in the whole world. "Also, we need to take into account that the consumption of wild mushroom tends to decline year by year in our country", M. Kuznetsov says.

According to company's data, Kyiv is the main consumer of mushrooms - 15-20% of all champignons sold in Ukraine allocate to the capital of the country.
