China is ready to invest to Russian greenhouse business
Chinese business is ready to invest significant funds to the opening of greenhouse complexes on the territory of Russian Federation, PRODUCT.RU informs with the reference to the data of the survey conducted by the analysts of consulting company "Growth Technologies".
According to the data provided by the диетологов of Moscow Scientific-Research Nutrition Institute, each inhabitant of Russia should eat not less than 87.6 kg of vegetables per year. Taking into account weather conditions, at least 13 kg of these vegetables will be grown in greenhouses.
In Moscow and Moscow region around 7 kg of vegetables and fresh herbs were annually allocated per capita (2004 data); the situation is much worse in Russia in general. The real volume of the consumption of fresh herbs and vegetables is several times as low than the recommended norm. In average, as of today, one inhabitant of Russian Federation annually consumes 4.3/kg of vegetables produced in greenhouses.
It is interesting that 12 times as much national greenhouse vegetables and fresh herbs are allocated per each Chinese inhabitant in average, than per one Russian. However, not all these vegetables come to inner market: since recently China has been performing the increased activeness in the exports of the greenhouse products, to Russia too.
For example, the trade-economic community "Baey" (Russian-Chinese) initiated the project of the commercial vegetable complex in Novgorodskiy region. The enterprise will have 20,000 sq. meters of covered ground and respective premises. The community will invest EUR 25 mln. to this project in the period from the end of 2007 till 2013.
