Ukraine: onion exports increased more than 6 times in the first quarter of a new season

According to information of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly, in September 2007 Ukraine exported 1,900 tons of onion. This figure is five times as high than the exports recorded in the same month of the previous year. In total, since the beginning of this season (August 2007) Ukrainian exporting companies have exported 3,200 tons of onion, or 6.3 times as more than at the same period of time past year. The most part of products was exported to Russia.

Nevertheless, the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecast the decline of the volumes of onion exports from Ukraine in this marketing year because of the production decrease, deterioration of the product quality and more severe competition from the side of Poland, Holland and other EU countries.

We'd like to remind that the leading onion importers from Russia, Poland and Holland will gather in Kyiv on the 4th-6th of December in order to meet with the leading Ukrainian suppliers of onion, apple, greenhouse vegetables and other types of produce. To catch this unique opportunity, you need to register for participation in the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader". We'd like to remind that there are only three days left till the end of registration of the participants of the conference and wholesale-retail center!
