Bitburger will produce fruit juices
Thomson Financial informs that Bitburger, one of the largest beer producers in Germany plans to start production of fruit juices in order to decrease the company's dependence on alcohol drinks. The company made decision to cooperate with Rauch company, Austrian juice producer starting from February 2008. To the source's opinion, this cooperation is able to help Bitburger to compete with Krombacher, which owns the license for the production of Orangina drink with orange juice.
To the opinion of Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" project, the entering of many producers of sparkling drinks and alcohol to juice segment remarks the global trends of consumption. "The producers of the whole world pay more attention to health, so that the consumption of fruit and vegetable juices in the developed countries is increasing now by faster rates than the consumption of alcohol and beverages. Also, in some countries juice consumption increases by means of declined demand for alcohol and sparkling drinks", A. Yarmak says.
