There are still lots of Ukrainian apple on market

The market monitoring specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly inform, at the present moment the supply of Ukrainian apples reminds quite great on market; however, the prices have already exceeded 15-25% the past year data.

To the opinion of Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" project, comparing to the previous year, apple production increased just 7%. Despite of this fact, the supply of dessert apple increased 12-15%. According to the expert, this situation is predetermined by the increased share of modern intensive orchards in the gross apple harvest of the country.

At the same time, the project specialists observe the quality deterioration of Ukrainian apples which are supplied to wholesale and retail markets in the lower price segment. This fact reflects the absence of he necessary infrastructure for long-term apple storage.
