"Velyka Kyshenya" opened 11th hypermarket
On the 15th of December the eleventh hypermarket of the national chain "Velyka Kyshenya" was opened in Berdyansk, Zaporozhskaya region, RetailStudio.org informs. Opening the hugest store in Berdyansk, "Velyka Kyshenya" finished the series of the regional openings of the chain planned for 2007.
The square of the new store is 4,841 sq. meters; the assortment is more than 50,000 items of various goods.
The store is the first and, as of today, the only hypermarket in the city. The store provides a broad assortment of non-food goods, and also the self-made products - more than 600 types of hot and cooled cookery, bread and confectionary products, meat and fish semi-ready products. The parking zone for 800 places is established in front of hypermarket and trade center. The free-of-charge buses are provided to transport citizens from the bus stop "Central Market" to the hypermarket.
According to Igor Dushko, the General Director of LLC "Kviza Trade", the managing company of "Velyka Kyshenya" chain, the opening of the 11th hypermarket was a successful result of the program of the regional chain development in 2007.
"We plan to develop by the same fast rates in 2008; we are willing to open more than 20 of new stores of "Velyka Kyshenya" chain in the regions of Ukraine", Igor Dushko said. "Nine new stores of "Velyka Kyshenya" were opened in various cities of Ukraine in 2007. Now "Velyka Kyshenya" works in the format of hypermarkets in Chernovtsi, Rovno and Berdyansk, and in the format of supermarkets in Zaporozhye, Kramatorsk, Krasnodon and Yuzhnoukrainsk. At once two trade floors started to operate this year in Kharkov - the hypermarket and supermarket of "Velyka Kyshenya". Also, the already operating supermarket "Velyka Kyshenya" was reformatted into hypermarket in Poltava", top manager said.
In addition to the active development in the regions of Ukraine, this year "Kviza Trade" company entered international trade market. In October 2007 the company purchased 100% shares of Moldovan supermarket chain Green Hills Market (Chisinau). So, the chain became the first Ukrainian player which entered international market and fully took over the foreign chain. The first step of "Kvisa Trade" company in the development of Green Hills Market was the opening of two more supermarkets of Moldovan chain. Now the total quality of these stores increased up to five.
"Velyka Kyshenya" is one of the largest national chains of the retail trade in Ukraine. Today "Velyka Kyshenya" is represented in 19 cities of Ukraine; it is represented by 41 stores (30 supermarkets and 11 hypermarkets). The total trade floor of the chain is around 120,000 sq. meters. As of the end of 2006 the number of employees is more than 12 500 persons. The average bill in 2006 was UAH 44 ($9). The volume of net sales on 1 sq. meter of trade floor was around $6,000 in average throughout the chain in 2006. The volume of net sales of the chain amounted to $ 403 mln. in 2006. Due to this achievement the chain occupied the fourth place in the RetailStudio.org rating of trade chains of Ukraine.
