Volume of banana imports to Ukraine significantly declined in August-October 2007

The analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly inform, the volumes of banana imports to Ukraine significantly declined in August-October 2007 both comparing to the first seven months of the current year and to the same period of time in 2006.

The analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" explain the reduction of banana imports volume by the dramatic price growth for bananas in the world, in Ecuador in particular, which is the main supplier of these fruits to Ukraine. Nevertheless, according to the forecasts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", banana imports to Ukraine have still 6-9% increased in 2007 comparing to the previous year.
