Ukrainian farmers collected 2.279 mln t of maize grain
As of October 10, 2002 farmers of Ukraine harvested maize grain from the area 606,600 hectares (56 percent of the forecast) and collected 2.279 million tonnes of grain. Average yield has been 3.27 tonnes per hectare.
As of October 10, 2001 maize grain was harvested from 626,200 hectares (56 percent of forecast). 1.832 million tonnes of grain were collected with the average yield 2.93 tonnes per hectare.
