Ukrainian farmers harvested nearly 7.8 mln t sugar beets
As of October 10, 2002 farmers of Ukraine harvested sugarbeets from the area 392.400 hectares (46 percent of the forecast), having collected 7.823 million tonnes of beets. Yield has averaged 19.9 tonnes per hectare.
By October 10 last year farmers had harvested sugarbeet from the area 521,000 hectares (61 percent of the forecast) and collected 10.043 million tonnes of beet. Yield averaged 19.3 tonnes per hectare.
