Italian Idromeccanica LUCCHINI to construct 30 ha of greenhouses in Kabardino-Balkaria

Vesti-Northern Caucasus informs, by the end of 2008 Kabardino-Balkaria will have greenhouses constructed according to the technology of Idromeccanica LUCCHINI Italian company. Massimo Lucchini, Managing Director of the company, provided this information during his recent meeting with Arsen Kanokov, the President of Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Mr. Lucchini has already reached the preliminary agreement on 10 ha greenhouses creation with Albert Kazdokhov, the Head of Baksanskiy Municipal District Administration. There is a signed contract (worth to $ 40 mln.) of the company and the district administration for the supply and mounting of the special constructions. The investors are the firm "Agrokom" of Baksanskiy district, and Kabardino-Balkarian division of Sberbank of Russia. The project will be paid back in five years from the moment of launching. There is a land plot allocated on the border of Baksanskiy and Chegemskiy districts; the planning will start soon. Italian specialists plan to have ready-to-operate first "vegetable production factories" on the square of 10 hectares as soon as in December 2008. They will also monitor the ripening of the first harvest of tomatoes and cucumbers which is planned for March 2009. The rest 20 hectares will be supplied and installed till the end of 2009. Arsen Kanokov approved the project and suggested to extend the cooperation: to simultaneously construct greenhouse facilities in two-three districts of the Republic. The President of the Republic also proposed Italian specialists to consider the issue of the master-plan development of the Republic considering its weather conditions, peculiar soil characteristics, and zoning. The press service of the President of the Republic informed, Italian guests asked the head of the Republic to initiate direct flights between Italy and Kabardino-Balkaria. "Economic processes have become more active in the Republic, we start developing ski resort. I think, we will solve this question in near future", Arsen Kanokov promised.
