Mushroom production is one of the most perspective sectors of Russian agriculture

The experts of Russian agri-industrial complex say that Russian entrepreneurs may profitably invest to the mushroom production at the present moment, because exactly this industry is one of the most perspective agri-businesses in the country. Alexander Khrenov, the Chief Editor of "Mushroom Production School" journal said in one of his reports: "There is no tradition to grow mushrooms in Russia. People used to go to the forest for mushrooms. Also, when nobody cared about the agriculture, the mushroom grower just had no chance to buy the specialized equipment. At the same time, the champignons were of the severe deficit at the times of the former USSR. Nowadays mushroom production is a modern high-tech industry of agriculture. All processes are mechanized and computer-controlled. For example, in Ural region the oyster mushroom production with the application of the own substrate may achieve 50% cost efficiency, and the champignon production is up to 100% cost efficient there".

We'd like to remind that the meeting of the leading specialists of the mushroom market of Ukraine and other countries will be held on the 10th-12th of June in the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" in Kyiv in the framework of the III International conference-exhibition "Mushroom Industry 2008", organized by "Fruit-Inform" project.
