The management of Syngenta company informed the specialists of "Fruit-Inform" project, the company specialists consider tomato and capsicum to be one of the most perspective vegetables crops in the world. To the experts' opinion, the demand for tomatoes and capsicum will increase faster than the demand for the other vegetables. According to their estimations, the global demand for tomatoes will zoom up at least 5% on the annual basis. Moreover, the tomato production is shifted west towards east and north towards south.

Syngenta also focuses watermelon and melon, and also cucumber among other perspective crops. To the company's opinion, the demand for the vegetable crops has been rather formed by the health benefits since recently. And, the consumers start to pay attention to the flavor parameters of the products again. That's why the breeding policy of Syngenta is focused on the improvement of the quality characteristics of the key crops.
