Ukraine harvested more than 3.2 mln. tonnes of open-soil vegetables

As of September 1, 2008 2 mln. tonnes of open-soil vegetables were harvested in Ukraine that totaled 112.1 % compared to the same period of 2007, reported the State Statistics Committee.

At the moment, the leaders in harvesting of open-soil vegetables are Khersonskaya oblast - 285.400 tonnes (125.7% compared to the data of September 1, 2007), Dnepropetrovskaya oblast – 241.500 tonnes (106.6% 07), Odesskaya oblast – 239.900 tonnes (up to 2.2 times ), Donetskaya oblast – 226.600 tonnes (89.6% ), and Kharvskaya oblast – 195.300 tonnes (92.3% as ).

The smallest amounts of open-soil vegetables were harvested in such regions as Sumskaya - 22.700 tonnes (52.1% as compared to the data of September 1, 2007), Ivano-Frankovskaya – 40.800 tonnes (83.7% ), Ternopolskaya – 60.700 tonnes (115.1% ), Rivnenskaya – 64.200 tonnes (122.9% ) and Volynskaya – 64.700 tonnes (119.1% ).
