Ukraine: no reasons for rise in prices for citrus

Supplies of new harvest citrus from Turkey started several weeks ago and, despite the forecasts of market participators, this fact has not caused rise in prices. Volatility of prices that was observed last week is directly connected with exchange course fluctuation of American dollar and the specialists are reassured that the prices will get to the previous level as the situation on the market stabilizes. The specialists consider reduction in prices as possible, reported Fruit-Inform project.

Also, according to some traders, substantial increase of tangerine supply from Georgia is expected.

Prices will stay relatively low as a result of joining Ukraine to WTO and cancellation of imports customs for citrus. Duty-free regime of shipments and sharp increase of assortment and volumes of imported citrus influenced trade activeness that remained the lowest for the last several years.
