Ukraine: fruit and vegetable market in desperate situation due to financial crisis
According to the specialists of fruit and vegetable industry of Ukraine, first of all, economic crisis will have the most substantial effect on fruit and vegetable producers, reported Fruit-Inform project.
At the moment farmers go through some difficult times. According to agrarians, prices for most products are declared at the low level and there are some difficulties with wholesale and retail trade.
Producers want to sell produce on terms of prepaid to quicken return of circulating assets, but no processors and supermarkets are ready to act this way. On the contrary, many buyers increased the terms of payment return due to deterioration of population’s purchasing activity. The other negative factor is a problem with crediting of the agroindustrial complex. This way, farmers are not able to get sufficient funds for field work.
According to agrarians, it is complicated to schedule the activity. Producers which have storing facilities, lay the produce for storing and can not determine the presumable term of sale starting. The other farms, most likely, will have to sell the produce at the prices declared by the purchasers.
