Russia: apple yield down
Crop capacity of apples are down from the lasy year index in Russia, reported Tatyana Getman, Editor-in-Chief of the weekly "Agrooglyaf: Fruits and Vegetables" during the Third international conference "Fruit and vegetable business of Russia-2008" on November, 5 in Moscow.
At the same time, the prices for apples are fixed at the level of 2007.
According to the data of Mrs. Getman, low prices for apples, despite reduction of yield in the current season, can be explained by imported produce on the market.
The main suppliers are Moldova, Poland and China.
