Consumption of foodstuffs in Crimea decreased

According to statistics, over the past 10 years consumption of the main foodstuffs in Crimea has shrunk more than twice, the First deputy Head of Crimean Parliament Vasily Kiselyov, cited by the News Agency of Crimea, has informed.

Thus, while 10 years ago an average inhabitant of Crimea consumed 63 kg of meat per year, now he eats just 27 kg. Consumption of milk has decreased from 286 to 146 litres a year, of vegetables and melons - from 120 to 76 kg. At the same time, consumption of bread, potatoes and vegetable oil has stayed practically unchanged.

Commenting on the situation the Vice-Speaker said: "It is not because the people are full. It is because the prices regulate consumption."
