Belarus tightens measures against bird flu infection

Belarusian authorities tighten sanitary control at the poultry breeding and processing enterprises and trading outlets. The corresponding order has been signed by Belarus' Chief State Sanitary Inspector Mikhail Rimzha and is aimed at prevention of bird flu infection from getting onto the territory of the country and spreading within.

The order requires all poultry breeding and processing enterprises to be supplied with sufficient amount of disinfectants, the staff to be provided with protective clothes and individual protective means. Until November 5 this year all the personnel, involving in handling live poultry, production and processing the poultry meat - first of all those getting in direct contact with the birds - are to be vaccinated against ordinary flu.

Trading enterprises of the country are ordered to strictly obey to the rules and regulations of transportation, storage and sales of poultry meat and related products, the regulations of shelf positioning of goods and rules of personal hygiene.
