Champignon has got 47% more expensive since the previous year - "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits"
This season Ukrainian champignon producers will be able to significantly increase the revenue level, especially those few producers who grow mushroom whole year round. This is the opinion of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" appealing by the sharp price growth for champignon in 2007 comparing to 2006.
Right now, after many small and medium producers have entered the market, the wholesale prices for fresh champignon on wholesale markets stay stable on the level $2.2-2.6/kg; this price is almost 47% as high than at the same period of time in 2006. In summer period champignon prices have beaten all records: the wholesale shipment prices reached $3.6-4/kg. Correspondently, the prices for oyster mushroom were high.
It is also worth to say that the prices for champignon have increased in the neighboring Poland. This country is competing with Holland for the position of the largest champignon producer in Europe and the second largest producer in the world, yielding to China. According to the data of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", the increase of the average wholesale price for chapmignon amounted to 43% per year in Poland.
